Wamego Bridge Access

Directions:
From I-70 take the Wamego exit #328 north on K-99 for approximately 9.5 miles. Cross the bridge into Wamego. Continue north on K-99, which is now called Lincoln Ave to Valley Street. Turn left or west on Valley Street and go 1 block and turn left on Elm St. At the end of Elm is the entrance to the access park.

Wamego access is also easily accessible from U.S.24 by turning south on K-99. Access is under the north end of the K-99 Bridge on the south end of town.

Access Info:
The access has limited parking but is patrolled and visible. A wide concrete ramp that scours well. The K-99 bridge provides shade at the ramp.  Restaurants and shopping are a short walk from ramp.

Float Info:
The next access is at Kaw River State Park  38 miles downstream at river mile 90. Floating this section is not recommended for novice boaters. In this section there are three bridges that can be used as emergency take outs: the Scholman Rd Bridge between Belvue and Paxico; the Maple Hill Bridge on Maple Hill Rd between St. Marys and Maple Hill; and the Willard Bridge just north of the town of Willard. The first access upstream is St. George River Front Park at river mile 137.
