Directions:
I-70 to Lecompton exit #197 (five miles west of Lawrence.) From exit 197 go north 1/4 mile to Lakeview Rd. Follow Lakeview Rd. west along the turnpike until it curves north, becoming Lecompton Rd. Go 3.2 miles through Lecompton. Continue north across the Kaw River on the Perry/Lecompton Bridge and look for the sign indicating Rising Sun River Access. Turn west into the park road that leads to the gravel parking lot. Concrete ramp is at the far end of the parking lot.
Access Info:
Parking lot is gravel and will accommodate 20-30 cars. Boat ramp is concrete and grooved for traction. Ramp extends 150 feet in length and 16 feet wide. The ramp projects into the channel at 12% grade. Ramp has a tendency to collect mud from June thru September and may impede boat launching. Call Jefferson County offices to request clean up. A flat nosed shovel can be used to remove mud from lower ramp.

The next access is River Front Park 10.7 miles downstream at river mile 54.1. The first access upstream is Seward Avenue at river mile 77.
