Suspended Permit #200301768 for river miles 84.5 - 85.8

 

This suspended permit is located east of the Hwy 75 bridge just down river from the Topeka coffer dam. The Army Corps of Engineers required Kansas Sand and Concrete to leave this location in August of 2006 because of unacceptable degradation to the riverbed (lowering of the bed of more that 2’ in a five year period). If the river agrades (that is, if sand settles on the bottom and raises the bed back up) the dredge could return to this location. This company has moved to a pit mine just south of the Kansas River near Valencia Road.
