On February 25, 2012 Laura Calwell, our Kansas Riverkeeper, received the 2011 Stream Monitor of the Year Conservation Achievement Award by the Kansas Wildlife Federation.  The Kansas Wildlife Federation focuses on youth outdoor education, the protection of grasslands and works for conservation programs.  They have sponsored the Conservation Achievement Program for 48 years. Friends of the Kaw and the Kansas Riverkeeper are honored to have received this award.
