from 6 to 10pm at Abe & Jake's Landing at 8 6th Street, on the south bank of the Kansas River in downtown Lawrence. Once you step in the door you will have the opportunity to taste the chef's sumptuous creations and vote on your favorite.  One of the following fine chefs will be awarded the title of the River City Cook-Off Champion:  Hillary Brown from Local Burger, Angel Alvarez from Tortas Jaliscon, Ken Baker from Pachamam's, Brand Walters from Basil Leaf Cafe and Garth Atchison from Wheatfields Bakery & Cafe.  There will also be a free organic kid's buffet.  Tickets are a suggested donation of $18 in advance and $20 at the door.  Tickets can be purchased via "Donate" on this we site (please put in notes from buyer that the donation is for Cook-Off tickets.)   Sponsors of the River City Cook Off are Abe & Jake's Landing, The Merc, Huhtamaki, Thompson Financial Group, Bowersock Mills and Power Company, HyVee and Cottin's Hardware.
